Sign-ups for the Kids Summer Reading Program begin on Monday, June 9. See below for a schedule of
great events we have planned for you this summer!
Tales and Tails
Children sign up for 20-minute sessions to read to a dog. Each child chooses a book and how
much reading and petting to do. Reading to the dogs increases enthusiasm for reading, develops
reading skills, teaches children how to interact with pets, and promotes confidence.
Our dog handler encourages interaction with her dog and will offer help if needed. All dog and
handler teams are certified volunteers from the Delta Society Animal Assisted Therapy & Education
Program. Reservations required.
